The Policy
Introduction
This page outlines our newsletter policy and procedures for handling your data. We reserve the right to make amendments to the policy at any time but will endeavour to inform you if we do so.
Why do you have access to my data?
When subscribing to the newsletter, you consented to give us permission to use your email address to send you the newsletters. Otherwise you may also have given consent to receive newsletters and other promotional material via email when completing the library membership form.
You can revoke this consent by unsubscribing from the newsletter (see below).
What data do you process?
We process your email address in order to send out newsletters using email.
Who do we share your data with?
The email address that you provide will be used by North Harrow Community Library to deliver a newsletter to your email address. In order to do this, we use Mailchimp as a provider to deliver the newsletter. We do not share any of your details with Mailchimp. How do we store and access your data?
The email address you provide is stored on servers managed by Mailchimp. At the Library, access to your data on the servers is limited to only the individual(s) who manage the records.
For how long do we retain your data?
The email address that you provide is retained for as long as you are subscribed to receive the newsletter. If you decide to unsubscribe from the newsletter, we will remove your email address from our records. This does not affect your library membership (see below).
How do I unsubscribe from the newsletter?
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by using the “unsubscribe link” provided at the end of each newsletter email or by contacting us directly at northharrowlibrary@gmail.com.
If you choose to unsubscribe using the link in the newsletter email, your preferences will usually be updated within a few minutes. If you choose to contact us directly, there may be a short delay whilst we process your request.
Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not affect your library membership nor does it prevent you from using other library facilities which are available to you. Should you, in addition, wish to end your library membership, you can contact us at the email above.
