We provide computer facilities free of charge and several printing facilities for a small fee.
Computing facilities
Please note that the computers are available on a first come first served basis. We do not offer computer reservations.
Computers
We have two computers, both of which are free to use and offer the same facilities:
- Browse the internet.
- Check e-mails.
- Write simple documents such as letters or CV’s.
WiFi
The Library has a WiFi service which is free to use. Please see the noticeboard or ask a volunteer for obtaining access .
There are also a very small number of desks with seats located around the Library which you may use to sit with a laptop.
Printing, photocopying and scanning
Please note:
- We can only print to A4 or A3 paper.
- WiFi printing is not available.
Costs
We offer printing, photocopying and scanning services for a small charge. All fees go directly towards the operating costs of the Library.
Printing and photocopying charges:
A4 paper:
- One A4 black and white page (single-sided print): 20p.
- One A4 black and white page (double-sided print): 40p.
- One A4 colour page (single-sided print): 60p.
- One A4 colour page (double-sided print): £1.20.
A3 paper:
- One A3 black and white page (single-sided print): £1.
- One A3 black and white page (double-sided print): £2.
- One A3 colour page (single-sided print): £2.
- One A3 colour page (double-sided print): £4.
Scanning charges:
- Set fee of 30p per session.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I print something directly from a USB memory stick?
Yes, you can print directly from USB Type A memory sticks.
Can I print an email?
Yes, but you will need to be able to log onto your email account using one of our computers. We cannot print the email directly from your phone.
Can I print a specific page of a website?
Yes, as long as you are using one of our computers.
How do I select to print either single or double-sided?
You can usually select these options from a printing dialog box before printing the document. However, please ask one of our volunteers for assistance if needed.
